This apartment was perfect for our family of six. We had plenty of space and it was nice to be able to cook our meals there and enjoy the evenings together. The location was great for skiing, with only a short walk to the lift. The walk was uphill, but there is a shop where ski equipment can be stored near the lift. Germano was so friendly and helpful! Very accommodating. Overall our experience at Chalet alla Cascata was fantastic!

Also this year we were very satisfied with our choice to stay in one of the apartments of Chalet alla Cascata (Gran Risa) for our skiing holidays. It is clean and everything what you need is there, comfortable with the garage downstairs and close to the skilift and managed in a very nice way by the owners. Higly recommended for who wants to be sure to have chosen well!

Each year during the season opening we spend a long weekend in December in the area near Corvara. Last year we discovered this chalet and it was great for us, so we came back again this year. The apartment was for 8 persons, very roomy with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a room for kids with bunk beds. The apartment has central heating but the best thing is the wood stove in the large living room, making it very nice and warm, as well as easy to dry wet ski accessories. The hosts are very hospitable, overall it was a very pleasant stay. The location is well connected with the Sellaronda ski area, just make sure that you head home in time to catch the last skilifts (if not, there is bus or cab, so no real problem either)!

We where here 1 week for cycling in the Dolomites. This was really the perfect base at the top of the Sella round. The apartment was very nice and the owner was very constructive. Also the location was ok with a bakery and the market nearby. Also the little distance of a restaurant/pub was positive. I would recommend this apartment!

We stayed in one of the apartments at the Chalet for a week and are very satisfied with simple furniture and well equipped, clean and comfortable rooms. The location is perfect for both skiers and hikers with ski slopes just across (access to the whole Dolomiti Superski area with Sella Ronda) the street and after crossing wooden bridge on picturesque river with trouts (yes, we have seen them even every day:). The price is also very reasonable. Last but not least, very friendly and helpful owner Germano who sent us all needed info before our stay by e-mail, waited for our late evening arrival and helped us during the stay.

We stayed at Chalet Alla Cascata in January of 2012, a group of 10 people in one of the larger apartments. Germano was very friendly and accommodating and we had no trouble finding the apartment in Pedraces. The location is right across a dinky little wooden bridge from the Santa Croce ski slope. While the ski connection to the rest of Alta Badia can be a bit annoying (and take a while), you can always drive the 5, 10 minutes to the other ski areas. Possibly not the best location if you want to do the Sella Ronda, but still good skiing within walking distance. Pedraces is a pretty small town, so it's probably a good idea to plan on having things to do "at home", since there aren't many places to go to in the evening (not much of an après ski scene), just one pub/pizzeria across the aforementioned wooden bridge (i.e. very nearby). The apartment itself was clean, spacious and well-appointed with enough room for a whole horde of people. It also has a pretty yard out front with a barbecue, but it was a bit cold for that when we stayed. There were two covered and two open air parking slots. I would point out that the heating system is not intuitive and we managed to shut off our heating for a whole day or so, so I recommend you don't fiddle with the setting and just accept the fact that it's very nice to have a warm and toasty apartment (if you're hot, step outside. You'll appreciate the warmth soon enough).
If you're a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs, since some of the interior walls are quite thin and you'll hear other people moving around, toilets flushing and things like that. Finally, just a general recommendation if you're renting an apartment anywhere in Italy: bring a good kitchen knife of your own, since I've never yet been to an apartment with sharp knives!
Final verdict: I recommend it. The price is good, the location is good and the apartment is very comfortable.

We were very satisfied with Chalet Alla Cascata. All 3 apartments we booked were nice and we (13 persons) could also all meet in largest one. Slopes are close and one can easily reach on skis La Villa, Corvara. Parking garage was also advantage during this years cold season. Mr. Germano is very friendly and helpful as other reviewers mentioned. During our stay we didn't have any problems or complaints.
If you choose Chalet Alla, you won't make a mistake:)

Germano and Antonella are extraordinary people and they effort to give perfect vacation for people that stay there is visible in very clean and comfortable apartments with very well equipped kitchen and above everything, their availability for any assistance at any time of day or night. Ski resorts are nearby, trails are wide and maintained, offer excellent.... one word: perfect holiday!

This is the perfect place for a ski vacation, especially easy for those with very small children as it was our case. With the runs, rental shop and ski school all a 5 minute walk away, there was virtually no effort getting everyone to the slopes, making it for a very relaxing vacation and maximum ski time even with little kids. The apartments are generously designed and well-built, and extremely clean. And all have wonderful views. The children enjoyed sledding and playing in the outdoor space. The owners, Germano and Antonella, were ever-available, helpful, as well as discreet. Badia is a sort of paradise, to which I am sure we will return soon.
