Dating back to 1912, the Romantik Hotel Cappella has a long tradition of hospitality. The Costner’s have always been an adventurous family. Josef (*1872), one of the first mountain guides in the Upper Badia valley and a pioneer of tourism, purchased the guesthouse "To The Chapel" in 1912, soon after returning from various expeditions to the Caucasus and Turkistan. Josef's granddaughter, Renate Kostner, and her husband, Josef Pizzinini, have made many innovative developments since 1969. They have utilized their extensive cultural knowledge and travel experiences to create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
They built the new Hotel Cappella in 1969 with sensitivity and passion, restructuring it in 2000 and transforming it into a luxurious and unprecedented centre of well-being and, carefully blending modern art, rare ethnic pieces and hand-crafted furnishings.
The exciting and varied bedrooms and suites of the Hotel Cappella will make your stay really different. Each room is a small jewel and no two are alike. Designers and artists, such as Siegward Sprotte, Roland Moroder and Gyan Antaro, have created a dream - rooms full of creative passion. You will also find the Matteo Thun suites, designed with functional elegance, the Tyrolean suite with its luxurious four poster bed and at night with the bathroom displaying the starlit sky of Colfosco, lights partly designed by the owner herself with an outstanding artistic sense; forefathers of the Kostner's and legends of literature such as Tita Alton tell you about their lives.
