La Stüa Hotel is centrally located in a quiet and sunny spot, far from the main road and only 400 m from the cable cars. Despite its ppopularity Alta Badia has never lost its rural character and still treats its guests with the hospitality typical of mountain people.
The hotel is located in St. Kassian in the heart of the Dolomites, the homeland of the Rhaeto-Romanics, the native inhabitants of the alpine region. The hotel's name "La Stua", meaning wooden parlour, refers to the atmosphere you can breath at the hotel. The parlour is the place to spend time with your family, to welcome your friends, to chat and to meet new people. "La Stüa" is the room that expresses cosiness and friendliness and it is the perfect room for making you feel comfortable...
From the very beginning of your stay you will feel the warmth of the personal atmosphere. "La Stüa" offers personal hospitality ensuring you can relax and feel at home. The hotel offers bright cosy rooms, a non-smoking parlour, a playroom for children and a cellar bar for typical Rhaeto-Romanic dinners.
The bedrooms are bright, cosy and fully equipped with television, safe, hairdryer, etc. From the balcony there are great panoramic views from the South to the West and all rooms facing East offer a spectacular view of the red Lavarella mountain massif.
A small apartment with kitchen and lounge is alsao available.
There is nothing more relaxing and revitalising than a visit to the cosy fitness area after a busy day outside. Finnish Sauna with diving pool, steam room, Kneipp basin, jacuzzi, solarium, cyclette...
During the summer: fields, forests, mountain lakes - you can choose between walking or hiking.
Guided theme excursions: farms, natural parks, scenes of World War I, a bear cave, folklore, speeches, music evenings, museums, water mills and bread baking, farmers markets, horse back riding, various childrens programmes, etc.
During the winter: the biggest skicarousel in the world with 1,000 km of slopes. Here you can find everything ranging from ski schools to the downhill worldcup, cross country skiing, ice-skating, alpine skiing, skiing tours, skijöring (dogskiing), sleighing and much more.

We had a very short stay, but would very much have liked to stay a good deal longer, and La Stüa will be at the top of our list when we consider coming back to the Dolomites for a vacation, hopefully as soon as this summer. We got in at the tail end of the ski season and had a wonderful time. The owners and staff were extremely kind and helpful, from the room to mealtimes, we were very happily surprised not only by the service, but also by the quality of the fare. The owners are very proud of the region and the Ladin culture and had organized the week for all the guests not only in terms of the typical arrival and parting days, but also in order to treat the guests to local drinks and food. We were with our two and a half year old child, and we were made to feel very comfortable and welcome despite the difficulties that a small child may sometimes create. Hats off!
